The Qatar-Korea Artificial Intelligence Forum commenced in Doha, bringing together leading experts and officials from both nations to explore collaborative opportunities in artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
Organized by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), in partnership with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Doha and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), the event underscores the growing strategic ties between Qatar and South Korea in the tech sector.
In her opening address, Reem Mohammed Al Mansoori, Assistant Undersecretary for Digital Industry Affairs at MCIT, emphasized Qatar’s commitment to advancing digital transformation and fostering a sustainable, innovation-driven economy. She noted that the Qatar National Vision 2030 places digital development and a knowledge-based economy at the heart of the country’s growth strategy.
Al Mansoori also highlighted Qatar’s ongoing investments in technology and innovation, pointing to the launch of several initiatives focused on digital innovation and artificial intelligence, as well as the rise of startups and emerging tech enterprises.
Speaking at the forum, His Excellency Yun Hyunsoo, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Qatar, expressed appreciation to MCIT for hosting the event and commended its efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation in technology and innovation. He described Korea as a global leader in digital transformation and data-driven innovation, and reaffirmed his country’s dedication to working with Qatar through international partnerships that support sustainable development.
Ambassador Hyunsoo stressed the importance of the forum as a platform to deepen collaboration in AI and emerging technologies. He affirmed Korea’s readiness to support joint initiatives that strengthen the digital economy and elevate institutional partnerships between the two nations.
He also encouraged participants to engage in meaningful dialogue and share insights that align with the shared vision of a prosperous digital future for both countries.
The forum featured discussions on joint strategies, investment prospects, and avenues for commercial collaboration in the AI sector. It served as a catalyst for enhancing bilateral cooperation and accelerating the digital transformation journey in support of sustainable development goals.
