Jumla Sign Language project to support the creation of innovative tools for people with hearing impairment
In celebration of International Day of Sign Languages, the Minister of Social Development and Family, Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, has announced the "Jumla Sign Language" project for individuals who are hard of hearing. The Mada - Qatar Assistive Technology Center, at the Ministry of Social Development and Family developed the groundbreaking project, the first of its kind in the world. The project aims to support researchers and developers in creating innovative tools for people with hearing impairment.

The Ministry of Public Health, Hamad Medical Corporation, and Primary Health Care Corporation have collaborated to launch a new website that showcases the recent transformation of the public health system in Qatar.
HE Minister of Public Health, Dr. Hanan Mohammed Al Kuwari, has participated in the Tobacco-Free Financing Pledge at the United Nations, further cementing Qatar's commitment towards building a tobacco-free future. Qatar's participation in the event highlighted the country's significant achievements in reducing the use of tobacco and, most notably, amongst the youth, with the percentage of youth using any tobacco products dropping from 20% in 2004 to 12.1% in 2018, which aligns with the national target of a 5% reduction in smoking prevalence by the end of 2022.
