The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has announced the launch of the third cohort of the Qatari Teachers Fellowship Programme, “Khibrat,” a professional development initiative designed to enhance the educational and professional competencies of Qatari teachers through engagement with leading teaching practices from across the region and beyond.

First introduced during the 2023-2024 academic year, the programme seeks to equip Qatari educators with valuable learning opportunities by exposing them to distinguished educational experiences and enabling them to integrate innovative practices into schools across Qatar.

The second day of the programme’s orientation week was attended by HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, alongside ministry officials and education specialists. Participants were briefed on the programme’s activities, content, implementation framework, and the measures in place to support their professional growth ahead of the immersion phase.

The fellowship programme is structured around three key stages. It begins with an orientation week in Doha, followed by a professional immersion experience in Riyadh. Participants then return to Doha to undertake development projects that reflect the knowledge, expertise, and insights gained throughout the fellowship.

The third cohort includes 20 teachers from government schools specializing in Arabic language and Islamic education, as well as eight educational supervisors from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

Throughout the orientation week, participants receive guidance on the requirements of the upcoming immersion period, in addition to the responsibilities, objectives, and expected outcomes associated with the programme.
