Qatar Museums, in partnership with the Embassy of Argentina in Qatar and the Trade Commission of Chile (ProChile), is inviting the public to a vibrant three-day cultural celebration from August 14 to 16, 2025, as part of the Qatar-Argentina and Chile 2025 Year of Culture.
The Summer Family Weekend will be held at the centrally located Teen Hub, adjacent to the Fire Station, and promises a rich programme of activities designed to engage children aged 4 to 15 and their families. Admission is free, with online registration required via yocpress@qm.org.qa. Complimentary and valet parking will be available.

1- Hands-On Workshops & Cultural Activities
- Moai Clay Sculptures
Children will sculpt figures inspired by Chile’s famous Easter Island statues.
- Fabric Traditions of Argentina
Led by Argentine educator Gabriela Salvino, this workshop introduces traditional weaving and dyeing techniques using natural ingredients like turmeric and beetroot. Participants will design their own tote bags.
- Art & Nature from Chile
Chilean educator Lisbeth Pino Westermayer will guide children in crafting birds, flowers, and forest animals, using a bilingual approach to explore Chile’s natural heritage.
- Explore Qatari Culture with Dadu
On August 15 and 16, Dadu, Children’s Museum of Qatar, will host workshops where children can create their own Batoullah and Falcon Hood, blending local heritage with hands-on creativity.

Discover global constellations and the stories they tell in this stargazing activity.
- Erupting Candy Volcano
A fizzy science experiment inspired by South America’s volcanic landscapes.
- Cinema Zone
In collaboration with the Doha Film Institute, enjoy a curated selection of family-friendly Made in Qatar films that promote cross-cultural understanding.
- Collaborative Mural
Children will contribute to a large-scale mural that evolves throughout the weekend, creating a shared artistic memory.
3- Dance & Language Exploration
- Argentinian Folk Dance: Chacarera
Led by María Paula Reyes Ortiz and María Cristina Ortiz Murcia, this joyful dance session introduces families to Argentina’s folkloric traditions.
- Chilean National Dance: Cueca
Daniela Bedmar from Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s Language Center will teach the rhythm and steps of Chile’s iconic Cueca.
- Spanish Language Hot Spot
Fun and interactive sessions like “Say it in Spanish” and “Test Your Spanish” will be offered for beginners of all ages, supported by Marcela Lozano.
4- Taste of Latin America & Career Exploration
- Food & Beverage Zone
Visitors can enjoy traditional Latin American snacks and drinks, including empanadas and alfajores, available for purchase.
- Veterinary Science & Equine Care Workshop
Led by Benjamin Uberti from the Equine Veterinary Medical Center, this 45-minute session introduces children to veterinary science and the cultural significance of equine care in Qatar, Argentina, and Chile.
This event is part of the Qatar-Argentina and Chile 2025 Year of Culture, an initiative that fosters mutual respect and understanding through cultural engagement. It reflects Qatar Museums’ commitment to celebrating diversity and building connections through art, heritage, and education.
