The Ministry of Education and Higher Education, through its Early Education Department, organised an orientation meeting yesterday for the KG1 level, which is designed for children aged three years. The event, held at the ministry’s headquarters, brought together academics, kindergarten staff and parents to highlight the significance of early childhood education and strengthen cooperation between families and educational institutions.

Representatives from 10 kindergartens attended the meeting, including principals, vice principals, kindergarten and English department teachers, as well as teaching assistants.

During the event, Al Khulaifi underscored the vital role teachers play in shaping children’s learning experiences. She described educators as the cornerstone of the educational process, serving as role models and sources of motivation for young learners. She encouraged teachers to create learning environments that nurture creativity and innovation while recognising the individual needs and abilities of each child.

Addressing parents, Al Khulaifi emphasised that strong collaboration between families and kindergartens is key to a successful educational journey. She noted that ongoing parental support and engagement at home complements the learning children receive in kindergarten and strengthens the partnership between home and school.

She added that family involvement provides a natural continuation of the educational care delivered in kindergartens and lays an important foundation for children’s future growth and development.

The meeting also featured presentations outlining the responsibilities of academic and administrative staff, available learning resources, assessment methods, activity regulations, and plans for training and professional development.

The Early Education Department announced that teachers will participate in an intensive training programme from August 30 to September 3, 2026. Professional development workshops and training sessions will continue every Thursday from September 10 through November 1, 2026.

As a result, children enrolled in kindergartens included in the third expansion phase will not attend classes during the designated training periods.

The event was attended by ministry officials, kindergarten principals and teachers, supervisors from the Early Education Department, and parents, reflecting the ministry’s commitment to fostering cooperation between educators and families in supporting children during their formative years.
