The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), through its School Health Program and Services, is set to launch its 2026-2027 Back-to-School campaign under the theme “Healthy Bodies Build Strong Nations.” The nationwide initiative will take place from August 30 to September 10 in all public schools and kindergartens across Qatar.
The campaign is part of a broader strategy aimed at fostering long-term healthy behaviors among students and strengthening awareness that health extends beyond personal responsibility to serve as a key foundation for building a productive and prosperous society. The initiative also supports Qatar’s aspirations for sustainable human development.
Activities throughout the campaign will focus on several health priorities, including encouraging healthy sleep patterns, limiting excessive use of electronic devices, promoting regular water intake, supporting balanced nutrition and physical activity, developing self-discipline and responsibility, enhancing mental and emotional wellbeing, and encouraging positive social interactions within school environments.
Dr. Layla Abdulla Aldahnaim, Manager of the School Health Program and Services at PHCC and Consultant in Community Medicine, described the campaign as an important step toward nurturing a generation that is more aware of health issues and capable of adopting sustainable, healthy lifestyles.
She said the campaign will feature a wide range of educational and interactive activities tailored to various age groups. These include awareness lectures, classroom and extracurricular initiatives, workshops, health education sessions, informational materials for parents, and tools designed to help students track and maintain healthy behaviors both at school and at home.
As part of efforts to strengthen engagement and encourage practical learning, PHCC will also organize the “Healthy Bodies Build Strong Nations” competition for students across all levels of public education.
The competition is intended to inspire creativity and innovation in addressing health-related topics and healthy living practices. It will encourage students to take an active role in spreading health awareness within their school communities by producing creative projects that reflect their understanding of the campaign’s themes.
Through these activities, students will contribute to promoting health awareness among their peers and families while reinforcing the campaign’s key messages.
The competition will center on major campaign themes, including digital balance, healthy sleep habits, proper nutrition, adequate hydration, physical activity, emotional self-regulation, and mental preparedness for learning. These topics underline the strong connection between physical and mental wellbeing, academic achievement, and overall quality of life.
