The "Hour and Hour" program, in partnership with the Qatar Cancer Society (QCS), recently hosted its second annual "We Meet for Awareness" event. Held in conjunction with both World Cancer Day and National Sport Day, the event aimed to raise public awareness about cancer, promote early detection, and underscore the vital role of sports in public health and disease prevention.
The event brought together experts from health, sports, and technology, as well as members of the wider community. A key moment was the unveiling of the "Window of Hope" logo. Among the attendees were Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Jabor Al Thani, Chairman of the Qatar Cancer Society, and Tamani Al Yafei, CEO of the "Hour and Hour" program, alongside other dignitaries.
Al Yafei emphasized the event's goal of fostering hope and celebrating both advancements in cancer treatment and individual stories of resilience. She noted that the presence of specialists, creatives, athletes, and individuals who have recovered from cancer added significant depth and impact. International participation through attending embassies further broadened the event's reach and message of support.
Al Yafei stated that the "Window of Hope" initiative successfully conveyed its message of awareness and reaffirmed the ongoing commitment to promoting early detection, prevention, and support for patients and their families. She expressed gratitude to the Westin Doha Hotel for hosting the event.
