The Air Cargo Customs Department has successfully stopped an attempt to bring a large quantity of narcotic medication into the country. The incident took place on Thursday, April 16, 2026, when customs officers intercepted a shipment containing 46,200 pregabalin tablets.
In a statement shared on its official social media platforms, the customs authority said the case was detected after a customs inspector raised suspicions about one of the incoming consignments. As a result, the shipment was referred for detailed inspection.
Further examination revealed that the tablets had been deliberately hidden among cosmetic items and other products using concealed methods. Authorities confirmed that the total amount seized reached 46,200 tablets.
Qatar Customs reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing strict inspection measures and preventing the smuggling of prohibited substances, highlighting the role of vigilant officers in safeguarding public safety.
