Under the banner of "The Greatest Days," Qatar Charity (QC) has initiated its Dhul-Hijjah campaign for the year 1446 (corresponding to 2025). This initiative seeks to implement a diverse array of humanitarian and developmental projects, alongside the distribution of sacrificial meat (Adahi) across 40 nations, including Qatar.
Ahmad Yousef Fakhroo, Chief Communication Officer at Qatar Charity, encouraged the public to recognize the profound spiritual significance of the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, a period of deep reverence in Islam.
Qatar Charity's Adahi program, made possible by the contributions of generous donors, intends to distribute meat from approximately 45,300 sheep and cattle in 40 countries, including Qatar, aiming to reach over 850,000 individuals in need.
Within Qatar, Qatar Charity's Adahi initiative will distribute sacrificial meat from 4,000 sheep to around 30,000 individuals, spreading the joy of Eid. Recipients will include sponsored orphans and their families, low-income households, farm laborers, and expatriate communities. Distribution will be facilitated through Al Meera, in collaboration with expatriate communities.
Beyond Qatar's borders, the meat from nearly 41,300 sacrifices is anticipated to be distributed to roughly 826,000 people in 39 countries spanning Africa, Asia, and Europe. Priority will be given to countries and regions affected by crises, such as Syria, Palestine (including Gaza), Sudan, Yemen, and Somalia.
Qatar Charity's Udhiyah distribution will also take place in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Kosovo, Nepal, Nigeria, Ghana, The Gambia, Palestine, Syria, Tanzania, Niger, Sri Lanka, Senegal, Ethiopia, Indonesia, India, Lebanon, South Africa, Malaysia, Yemen, Chad, Somalia, Burkina Faso, Turkey, Tunisia, Kyrgyzstan, Mali, Ivory Coast, Jordan, Egypt, Sudan, Kenya, Djibouti, Mauritania, Togo, Benin, and Burundi.
In addition to Udhiyah, "The Greatest Days" campaign invites contributions to broader relief efforts, including the provision of food baskets containing essential supplies for malnourished children and impoverished families. Aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals of eradicating poverty and hunger, aid is expected to be distributed in Somalia, Chad, Kenya, Pakistan, Sudan, Ivory Coast, and Yemen, as well as to Rohingya and Sudanese refugees.
"The Greatest Days" campaign also seeks support for development projects, encompassing water initiatives and economic empowerment programs, which will benefit needy families in Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Kosovo, Bangladesh, Gambia, Niger, Nigeria, Chad, Syria, Senegal, Somalia, Burkina Faso, Albania, Tunisia, Jordan, Morocco, Ghana, Kenya, and Pakistan. Furthermore, the campaign will deliver humanitarian aid and implement other crucial projects.
