Qatar’s Government Communications Office (GCO) has issued a renewed warning urging the public not to film or approach areas where security incidents occur, emphasizing that such behavior endangers public safety.
In a statement shared on X, the GCO explained that capturing and circulating videos from incident locations can unintentionally reveal sensitive security information. This may include military coordinates, the timing and movement of security units, gathering points, as well as details about roads, entry routes, and exits.
The office further cautioned that these recordings could expose routine activity patterns, help identify potential targets, and pinpoint specific locations all of which could put civilians at heightened risk.
The GCO stressed that filming at the scene of an incident is a violation that could result in legal consequences.
Earlier this week, the Ministry of Interior also warned residents against recording or sharing footage of ongoing field operations. The Ministry advised the public to avoid touching, moving, or approaching debris from intercepted objects, underscoring the importance of public cooperation in maintaining safety.
