Qatar’s presence at Expo 2025 Osaka has marked a major achievement, with its pavilion welcoming over one million guests since opening its doors on April 13, 2025.
Designed to offer a rich and engaging experience, the pavilion seamlessly blends Qatar’s cultural heritage with contemporary innovation. Visitors have enjoyed a wide array of workshops, artistic showcases, and cultural performances that reflect the nation’s identity and values.
A number of prominent Qatari institutions have played a key role in shaping the pavilion’s programming. Contributions have come from Qatar University, Qatar Museums, the Ministry of Culture, and the World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH), an initiative by Qatar Foundation, along with support from various government bodies and national organizations.
The pavilion has drawn a diverse international audience, especially during special occasions such as Qatar National Day, Children’s Day, and Mother’s Day. These celebrations featured interactive sessions and family-oriented activities led by the Doha International Family Institute, emphasizing Qatar’s commitment to inclusivity and cultural richness.
Qatari creativity has also taken center stage, with the Doha Film Institute presenting a selection of short films that spotlight emerging talent and artistic expression from Qatar and the wider Arab region.
In addition, the Ministry of Transport hosted a forward-looking session on Qatar’s transportation future, while other panels explored the Qatar Media City initiative and the vital role of the National Archive in preserving the country’s historical legacy.
Visitors have had the chance to engage directly with Qatar’s traditional crafts through live demonstrations of Arabic calligraphy and henna art, offering a hands-on glimpse into the nation’s deep-rooted cultural practices.
As Expo 2025 approaches its final phase, Qatar’s pavilion is preparing to unveil a vibrant lineup of events. Highlights include a cultural dialogue on youth identity and exchange led by Qatar Museums’ Years of Culture initiative, discussions hosted by the National Human Rights Committee, and participation from Doha University for Science and Technology showcasing its contributions to research, innovation, and the development of national expertise in science and engineering.
