Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has successfully concluded the operation of its medical clinic in the Sealine area for the 2025–2026 winter camping season, which ran from October 16, 2025 to April 11, 2026. This marks the sixteenth consecutive year that HMC has provided essential healthcare services to campers and visitors in the area during the winter season.
Throughout the operating period, the clinic delivered medical care to a total of 1,680 patients of different age groups and nationalities. Of these cases, 291 patients were treated directly at the Sealine clinic, while 692 others were transferred to HMC hospitals via ground ambulance or air ambulance. An additional 697 patients received on-site medical care and required procedures from HMC emergency medical teams.
HMC extended its appreciation to all healthcare professionals and support staff who contributed to the success of the clinic, including doctors, nurses, ambulance crews, and administrative teams who ensured uninterrupted services during the camping season.
The Sealine clinic operated on a weekly schedule, opening every Thursday and Friday from 2:00 pm to 2:00 am, and on Saturdays from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm. This timetable ensured that campers and beachgoers had consistent access to essential medical services. At the same time, emergency departments across HMC hospitals remained on heightened alert to receive and manage critical cases requiring advanced care.
Medical services at the clinic covered a wide range of mild to moderate conditions, including respiratory infections, gastrointestinal illnesses, burns, and minor injuries. The facility was fully equipped with appropriate medical devices and medications to manage such cases on site. Patients requiring higher levels of care were transferred promptly to hospitals by ambulance or LifeFlight, depending on medical necessity.
During operating hours, the clinic was staffed by a physician and a nurse, working under the supervision of a medical officer. The facility was adequately supplied with all required medical equipment and medications, and an air ambulance landing zone was positioned adjacent to the clinic to facilitate rapid transfers.
The clinic’s operation was supported by continuous coverage from HMC’s Ambulance Service. This included the permanent deployment of two standard ambulances and two four-wheel-drive ambulances to transport patients from sandy and remote areas. Additional ambulance resources were stationed nearby to support transfers to the clinic, hospitals, or the air ambulance landing site when required.
During weekends, school holidays, and peak periods, ambulance coverage in the Sealine camping area was further expanded to include six standard ambulances and five four-wheel-drive ambulances, enabling fast and efficient emergency response across the sand dunes.
In addition, HMC’s Ambulance Service provided LifeFlight coverage throughout the season and deployed multidisciplinary teams comprising paramedics, critical care paramedics, rapid response personnel, supervisors, communication officers, and operations staff. Staffing and deployment were coordinated in accordance with command and control plans developed by the Emergency Preparedness and Events Planning unit, ensuring alignment with the medical coverage requirements of the camping season.
